After being the 2021 winner of Ecoembes' Urban Circular Challenge award, Lixo is proud to announce its position as a 2022 finalist of the Circular Packaging Challenge for the same entity.
In order to better understand these two nominations, it is important to introduce the organizer of these challenges: Ecoembes. It is a Spanish company created in 1996 to supervise the recycling of the waste present in the yellow and green garbage cans. It is the Spanish equivalent of the well-known Citeo, also a partner of Lixo since 2020.
The company collaborates with individuals, but also public entities and private sector companies in order to make domestic waste recycling a reality in Spain. Their main goal is to improve the quality of life and strengthen the environmental awareness of citizens through their sorting and recycling habits.
These two European challenges are designed to connect and reward startups that are working towards a better circularity of resources on an industrial scale, but also on the level of the use that individuals make of them.
The Urban Circular Challenge won by Lixo in 2021 focuses on circular economy startups bringing a concrete answer to one of the various challenges that European cities are currently facing.
In 2022, Lixo is a finalist for the Circular Packaging Challenge award, which honors European startups working on solutions for better circularity of packaging.
These two consecutive nominations confirm Lixo's role as a major player in the implementation of innovative solutions aimed at solving the challenges related to the circularity of resources.
